Liv Zutphen is a self-taught artist. She attended Urban High School of San Francisco and Guitar Institute of Technology in Hollywood. She began to paint in 2006 and was included in her first group show that same year at 7 Dudley Sponto Gallery, the location of the legendary beat hang-out spot Venice West Cafe. Her first solo show was in 2011 at Focus Gallery in North Beach, San Francisco. In her art, she loves to explore and expose the hidden emotional states that shape and control the ways humans interact with each other.
